Don't Worry, Be Happy

In the 77 days since oil from the ruptured Deepwater Horizon began to gush into the Gulf of Mexico, BP has skimmed or burned about 60 percent of the amount it promised regulators it could remove in a single day.

The disparity between what BP promised in its March 24 filing with federal regulators and the amount of oil recovered since the April 20 explosion underscores what some officials and environmental groups call a misleading numbers game that has led to widespread confusion about the extent of the spill and the progress of the recovery.

"It's clear they overreached," said John F. Young Jr., council chairman in Louisiana's Jefferson Parish. "I think the federal government should have at the very least picked up a phone and started asking some questions and challenged them about the accuracy of that number and tested the veracity of that claim."

In a March report that was not questioned by federal officials, BP said it had the capacity to skim and remove 491,721 barrels of oil each day in the event of a major spill.

As of Monday, with about 2 million barrels released into the gulf, the skimming operations that were touted as key to preventing environmental disaster have averaged less than 900 barrels a day.

Richard, I'm afraid all hope is lost. I still had a little left after all these years, but this thing is in hyperactive drive, and the speed at which everything that can be wrong is wrong is increasing exponentially.

On CNN's Anderson Cooper last night, one of the Parish Representatives said that every single Parish resident will tell you, including the Fishermen and those employed in the Tourist Industry, that the moratorium, one of the few good things the Obama Admin has done so far, should be lifted and Big Oil should be allowed to keep drilling.

It reminds me of a Holocaust movie I saw not too long ago. There are so many of those lately. Maybe they're priming us for the Holocaust to come. This movie was entitled The Grey Zone, and it was quite informative about just what human's would do to live a few more months in the worst of circumstances. The concentration camp prisoners were given a Faustian Bargain.

1.) Defy and be shot now, but maybe we will rape and torture you first before we shoot you.

2.) Obey and die a slow agonizing death that will eventually end in a shower followed by a really hot sauna with no water.

3.) Cooperate with us in rounding up and controlling your brothers so we can eliminate them in an orderly and efficient manner (the German's love their oxymoronic bureaucratic efficiency). For your cooperation, you be rewarded with a few extra months of this wonderful life. Cooperation included ushering the unwitting into the gas chambers whilst telling them it was just a shower and keeping them calm. It also included shuffling the dead bodies in and out of the ovens like pizzas.

I believe that is where we are headed....and quickly. It will be a metaphorical concentration camp of our own device. We will build it, nay we are building it as we speak, we will police it, we will operate it in a bureaucratically efficient manner for the Overlords, and here's the best part, we won't even know it. Now that's a hell of a plan. You can't possibly overcome the pure genius of it.

I laugh when I hear that the American people are waking up, or that the Elites are afraid of the Awakening. I know you do, as well. There can be no Awakening. Collectively, these people have been lobotomized and now they must die as Monsters rather than Good People (a hat tip to Shutter Island). They've been programmed to destroy each other and the entire planet, and everything's going according to plan.

I think the US is also hunting for the chap who runs WikiLeaks. Evidently he got hold of some classified State Department e-mails that the US doesn't want published. I think he's on the run in Europe.

Why classify anything any longer? The Sheep have been so successfully incapacitated that they couldn't tell truth from a hole in the wall.

I think this is just a bunch of Kabuki Theater. If this guy was really any kind of threat he would be dead by now, and we would never have known his identity. Pretty soon, they will be eliminating threats before even the thought of fertilizing an egg with your sperm manifests.

The American people are waking up Shrub. They wake up, stare around groggily, then roll over & go back to sleep. Last weekend I sat at work while my co-workers watched a 2 hour hot dog eating competition on ESPN. They all agreed that it must be a "sport" because it's on ESPN. At that point, I started wishing for the nukes to fall.

Did you happen to see this bit?

http://www.pnj.com/article/20100708/NEWS01/7080329/1006/RSS01

"More than 27,000 abandoned oil and gas wells lurk in the hard rock beneath the Gulf of Mexico, an environmental minefield that has been ignored for decades. No one — not industry, not government — is checking to see if they are leaking, an Associated Press investigation shows.

"The oldest of these wells were abandoned in the late 1940s, raising the prospect that many deteriorating sealing jobs are already failing.

"The AP investigation uncovered particular concern with 3,500 of the neglected wells — those characterized in federal government records as "temporarily abandoned."

"Regulations for temporarily abandoned wells require oil companies to present plans to reuse or permanently plug such wells within a year, but the AP found that the rule is routinely circumvented, and that more than 1,000 wells have lingered in that unfinished condition for more than a decade. About three-quarters of temporarily abandoned wells have been left in that status for more than a year, and many since the 1950s and 1960s — even though sealing procedures for temporary abandonment are not as stringent as those for permanent closures."

Richard, I think we're being a bit harsh on them. This video will help restore your faith.....and bring a tear to your eye. Don't view it without a box of tissues.

Morocco initially I thought they were singing about the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. ??? Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to be like these Clevelanders. Sit back, open up a six-pack, relax and watch the game. Aren't women more interested in these kind of men? Go to work, watch sports without a care and vote every now and then. Women love men like this. It can never be this with me. I've turned. I'll never be like that for the rest of my life.

Sometimes I think that life would be a little more enjoyable as this kind of regular guy. It would take an endless supply of narcotics and alcohol for me to go back to that kind of mind-set. I would be just more inebriated and uninterested in sports and the like. At times listening to Clutch, Motorhead, Deep Purple, most hard rock bands keeps me afloat. I wanted to cry while watching the video tape because of how repulsive it is.

It is a display of Cleveland's desperation as a former blue-collar town. I can relate more to the black hate Clevelanders feel about pro basketball and the like. I limit this relation as not to decide to gun down innocents at the local Burger King and have the police suicide me out of the picture.

Belliosto, I feel much the same way. I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia....my Dad was raised on the streets of Philadelphia. I am so far from that now, and have led so many different lives since, I could never go back.

I do think that it would be easier to be blissfully ignorant. Being aware, or semi-conscious of the rigged game as we are, often feels like a damn curse because there's nothing we can do about it. It's a crazy train and we can't get off whilst others don't even know they're on a crazy train heading straight for the Abyss.

McMurphy always comes to mind for me, except we don't have the Chief to smother us with a pillow.

To be aware and diligent is better than being a lofty follower. The rewards of diligence are plentiful. I'm rambling about the times that I honestly feel that it is a curse to be aware of certain things, like you said, but most of the time it is not.

You may remember that I was involved with a nationwide vote verification organization in the summer of 2002. Jim Condit Jr.'s vote reform in Ohio. But I was working in Texas trying to counter the proliferation of computer vote count machines. The people I worked with reached out to thousands and thousands of people in the U.S. e.g. patriot groups, etc... 99% of these people thought that a solution-based paper ballot vote count that could be verified was necessary, many admitted that it was an emergency situation. All the patriotic people and the like did not involve themselves with this endeavor. 5 of us were the only regulars working on this in Texas. To make a long story short this solution that we offered failed.

Robert Kennedy Jr., in 2006, was talking about a lawsuit filed against the computer vote count companies due to partisan vote rigging. This solution was too late. It was the pound of cure that was celebrated not the ounce of prevention.

The people of America that believed that paper ballots should remain a staple did nothing to insure that it stayed this way. Ironically, I do not believe that a single American should feel guilty about this. The people that I worked with were not perfect and this endeavor to showcase a successful paper ballot vote count was destined to fail. This again to make a long story short.

I was about 35 years old headed back to Michigan after this organization folded. I eventually went insane after everything I learned and attempted went through my reflective mind. I met a lot of interesting people and was fairly active in Michigan before I worked in Texas.

If there are local issues that need to be cleared up or prevented, common folk may be able to do this. The more larger the issue, the less likely rich or poor commoners will be effective with any solutions. It must be left to people who have more authority than others to take care of serious problems that can be preventable or must be solved after the inevitable happens. No question about it. Common people usually do not have the numbers and/or the ability to do anything but make matters worse. This is how I view this life in this world.

People in high places have a very difficult responsibility when dealing with common-folk issues and concerns. Rich or poor. We can do no better than to rely on their decisions and preventatives. Whether these decisions are made to maliciously harm us or not is not important. Common people do not impress on other common people enough to solve serious problems. It is usually talk but no action. And the actions of common people are no better than the actions of the elites. Commoners frown on other commoners unless he/she is in some kind of high authority. If that is the case, the person is uncommon.

That is our fate based on my personal experience involved with a nationwide endeavor to solve the paper ballot vote verification debacle. One may have a lot of knowledge about certain things but is this individual going to step up, be one's own person, and do something? It is much more likely that one will follow the instructions and work of others and continue to preach unto the choir believing that humanity is fit enough to follow the lead of strangers.

I'm healthy today. No medications or therapy. I'm glad to be a common man but I do not trust common or elite men and women whatsoever.

Here lies the problem.

What's a common man, Belliosto?

I think I found Cuttlefish. He's now an Olive Farmer.

Belliosto, I can't accept the following as the legitimate way of things. It may be how our system currently works, but not only being far from ideal, it's downright diabolical. I think Cuttles reincarnated as an Olive Farmer agrees.

People in high places have a very difficult responsibility when dealing with common-folk issues and concerns. Rich or poor. We can do no better than to rely on their decisions and preventatives. Whether these decisions are made to maliciously harm us or not is not important.

I'm not sure what your definition is of a "common man," but I think I have a general idea, and the only hope is to eliminate the common man, and by doing so you eliminate the Elite. In otherwords, eradicate hierarchy, but that will take several generations of a concerted effort and it begins with education.

There's too much at stake now for anyone to be afforded the ignoble status of common.

Yeah, the reliance on power networks that hold themselves accountable based on education, knowledge, justice and experience will not want a single-command hierarchy. But history and the nature of man dictates that these groups become just as tyrannical if not worse.

It's hard to accept that the majority of people will not want to rely on an hierarchy to assist them in their daily affairs.

My definition of common man is an individual, rich or poor, who has limited authority over others and is reliant on individuals who have more power than themselves. For example a states governor is not a common person but a supervisor at Target is.

Of course in the pyramid schemes of authority, the ones higher up are less common. They are not common people.

I do not believe that common men and women will have the ability to enable a society that will be less reliant on authorities who have more influence over others. If we eliminated hierarchy, it would be nothing short of miraculous. As long as people were benevolent towards each other then an hierarchy could be shunned. That's my opinion.

I see humans as equals. A king, president, or governor are equal to every one else. I believe animals are equal to us.

If a commander with a 10,000 man army singled me out and had me captured and imprisoned to be questioned by his men as whether or not he was superior over me, my honest response would be negative. After my execution the next day, I would go to my grave, God or no God, as believing I was equal to the commander. But the majority of people would honestly believe that the commander was superior.

Where's Obama This Weekend? - Area 51? - Bohemian Grove?

Jets scrambled as President’s plane leaves Las Vegas

The military scrambled two F-16 fighter jets that forced two planes to land as President Barack Obama departed Las Vegas on Air Force One.

The small planes violated restricted air space, and one was escorted to the North Las Vegas Airport, while the other was routed to Mesquite. Both planes were met by authorities once they landed.

President Obama was in southern Nevada for two days on a visit that was part policy and part politics. He spoke at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on economic recovery and delivered a stump speech for Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Let me paraphrase the gulf scenario so it's not tooooo long but gets to the point.

The gulf is a sewer and the Mississippi is the delivery system. The Texas oil refineries are looking to spend some of that 5 billion that Obama says the government will spend on green technology. He said that yesterday and the plan is to grow algae in the totally defunct GOM. That means pond scum as far as the eye can sea....
