I'm A Pussy Assed Slacker But I Ain't No Cracker

Since I spent the Zimmerman/Martin explosion here at home, I talked to no one but my wife. Having returned on Saturday, I got a chance to hear how other people were viewing it.

Unsurprisingly, most folk thought Trayvon was about 10 years old.

I suppose I could go down my usual kneejerk path that starts somewhere around "Americans are stuuuuuuupid" and ends somewhere around "Americans are fat & stuuuuuuuuupid."

But I don't really believe that.

At least not totally.

I really think the average working person with a family just doesn't have the time to assimilate all the garbage the media spoon feeds us.

Instead, they grab quick bites here & there...news snippets...misheard news snippets...work conversations about other peoples misheard news snippets...filter it through personal prejudice & then form it into a little homunculus called an idea or a belief.

It all started me thinking about how abysmally easy it is to, if not completely control public opinion, route it along a desired path.

Now, every photo I've seen of Zimmerman is a variation of this:

Which is a fucking mug shot.

Here's another Florida mugshot:

Carlos I Vargas
Possession of Soma & Xanax

On the other hand, every photo of Trayvon that I've seen is a variation of this:

I would be interested in seeing an updated photo, hoodie included.
I'm sure one exists.
I doubt if I will though. Everyone seems to have stuck Martin's corpse into a time machine & sent him back a decade.
More palatable, I suppose.
More Cosby show than convenience store robbery video.

It's an interesting strategy that seems to be very successful.

Maybe it's a little pre-election race guilt to bump Obama back into office.
Maybe it's a little pre-election race card fatigue/fear of the uppity Negro to bump up the Republicans.

Most likely it's just a continuance of the tried & true "divide & conquer" beastie the Brits so loved with their colonies.
I don't find it particularly hard to believe that the upper class views all of us "lessers" as little more than tribes of savages in need of control.

I lean this way because how one sees this affair seems to be predicated along lines proscribed by ones preformed opinions.
Liberals, always looking for another reason to spank themselves with collective guilt, go towards Trayvon, while Conservatives, sick of feeling guilty for shit they didn't do, go towards Zimmerman.

This all started me thinking about other, established boggarts, & how their reputations for pure evil would have been tarnished by the same treatment.

Imagine Helter Skelter if the predominant image of Charlie was this:

instead of this:

Or imagine how the efficacy old Uncle Adolph is employed with when some new dictator sitting atop a pile of natural resources we need is in need of toppling would be compromised if our predominant image was this:

or this:

instead of this:

"Reality" is looking more & more like one of those Lego sets that occupy whole aisles at Toys R Us. Sadly, most of us are those sad & stiff little humanoid/Lego hybrids with the badly painted hairdos. I don't foresee much good coming from any of it.

Perfect. It says it all...it would detract from it if I added anything other than a compliment. My sentiments, exactly.

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.

Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns....

Wow....just Wow.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/9189884/Trayvon-Martin-killing-UN-human-rights-chief-calls-for-investigation.html

UN Human Rights chief Navi Pillay has called for an "immediate investigation" into the circumstances surrounding the death of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teen who was shot dead by a volunteer neighbourhood watchman in Florida.

"As High Commissioner for Human Rights, I call for an immediate investigation," she said.

"Justice must be done for the victim. It's not just this individual case. It calls into question the delivery of justice in all situations like this."

They can't be serious, can they?
Maybe while they're investigating they could explain their criteria for determining human rights abuses since every crime seems to be a human rights violation.

Gee, I wonder if NBC's doctoring of Zimmerman's 911 call in order to make him look like a racist out profiling blacks would qualify.

I'm also wondering if flaming liberals like the RI knitting society now support the death penalty since they obviously want to see Zimmerman beheaded.

I also wonder what your typical RI liberal would do when confronted with a sidewalk full of low rent Trayvons at about 2 A.M.

I'm sure the women wouldn't be the least bit worried.

I'm also equally sure the men wouldn't piss themselves.

LOL Yeah, what would he do? I can visualize the back street kids saying to the liberal get of here and watch your news shows and start to fit in.

The local newspaper has a section with pictures of newborns. One could cut and paste this concept onto large billboards throughout the city with baby pictures of the most popular advertised local newscasters. ABC newscaster at 2 years old, NBC anchor at 6 months, etc. Local politicians can post their baby pictures all over the city while running for office. The city's celebrities would become the new little rascals group. Plant this seed in a city and it may go viral. We can all be young again and free to play kick the can all over again.

Howdee Mr. B.

How's Detroit these days?

I've been catching bits of "Hard Core Pawn" at work. I don't think I've seen a more staged "reality" show in my life.
You can almost see the producers offering the loan seekers a little extra $$$$ if they act batshit crazy.

Then again, maybe they're all batshit crazy but they're new at it so their batshit crazy looks wooden from inexperience.

TV watching America seems to have a love affair with pawn shops & repo guys. Nothing like a little desperation & despair & popcorn.
Maybe a beer & some chips too.

Periodic intermissions give us Rent-A-Center commercials with Bulk Blowgun & Boy Ballacheman telling us that rental is the only way to consume a tasty McBigScreen TV Dinner while cute chicks shill for Loan Sharks & their "loans."
My favorite line comes from some loan company whose name I don't give a fuck about.
A young hottie says, "Sure the money's expensive..."

Is this a fucking "great" system or what? Not only do we overprice our cars & our sneakers, we also overprice our money.

Do y'all have a
"Stand Your Ground" law?

Down here in PA we have a "Run Away To Fight Another Day" law?

Gee Shrub, I wonder if it's a coincidence that FOX News resurrected our country's dark avatar of race war, Chuckie Manson, for a re-look this weekend?

I noticed the same thing, Richard. There was a show about Manson on last night, and HMW came to mind. It is not coincidence.

Detroit is as shitty as ever. lol It was not much of a surprise if one pulled a gun. I live way out in the suburbs now but I drive into the city proper from time to time. I just recently worked about 8 months in Detroit. Stand your ground is what one living in Detroit would do when a gun was pulled. I don't know about the law. The law is not necessary. It really was not a big deal when a stranger threatened to shoot you. We were used to that.

This only happened to me a total of three times. When one hears gunfire everyday and knows about the crime in the area, an individual was not so perplexed by any threats of violence. Those TV shows are an act. Utterly ridiculous. I think that any white person living in Detroit or socializing in Detroit, who thinks they are a badass, is asinine and simply does not get it. There's really nothing to prove in Detroit. It's a sales technique for the suburbanites and people outside of Detroit to think that one has to be a tough person to be in Detroit. It's overkill.

Like a Slim Shady wannabe is a winner because he scores big points on American Idol and has a chance to move into a better quality neighborhood. The neighborhood that Slim Shady comes from was just as poor as a lot of the all-white neighborhoods of the people who think that Slim Shady had it rough in. I personally liked it better in Detroit, but the city lacked white-colored women. Most of these kinds of women do not like to go into Detroit neighborhoods. I was born and raised there so I was used to most of the danger and redundant hellish stories. Truthfully one gets callous after hearing about all the stories (there are fucking many) and they are real life worst-case scenarios. This much is true!

Humbly to both you men, Dick and Shrubby this kind of double standard behavior is very common in Detroit. For example, a group of white guys go to a park that has a dominantly black population on a summer's day weekend. They barbecue and drink a few and everybody is cool enough about it until a teenager decides to rip off their stereo. The white guys chase after him to retrieve it and then the older black men chase after the white guys. The white guys get roughed up and taught a lesson. I think the bottom line is that whites are not equals when there is a larger group of blacks gathered together with them. And of course, vise versa. This fortunately is like a machine around here. It helps the locals know where they stand. It may sound strange, but it's a workable reality. Most of the criminal activity is black on black in Detroit, and white on white in the suburbs, and the young and dumb of any color can become unpredictable. If one wants to think that he is equal with a large group of people who are different from him, that's fine. We are equals. But I cannot rely on the fact that people believe this.

Since 1667 to 1967 it was illegal to marry a person of any other race in U.S. Loving v. Virginia changed that in "67". Racial equality is an ancient unpopular cause with the masses. Lots of anger, jealousy, and humiliation involved with a mixed-race relationship. Just like the made in the U.S. movie "West Side Story" for example.

Take care.

Shrub & Mr. B, I'm betting that the white guy who chased the purse snatcher was that rare breed of Alpha Liberal who still possesses a nut sack but is so inclusively clueless, he's dumb enough to take his date out to eat during a racially tense mob rally.

I feel for the guy but it all brings back Bill Hicks' bit on Reggy Denny & the LA riots:

"Step on the fucking gas, man...
They're on foot...you're in a truck...
I think I see a way out of this..."
