Exactly, Richard. This is why I threw the Census in the trashcan. Between this, DARPA and the NSA, they already have all the info. they need. The Census is about testing compliance.

My wife had to investigate a stock issue for her mother several years back. Her mother owned stock in Nabisco that later merged with RJR. It was only a small amount of stock but there was a question concerning it for tax purposes. When my wife called Nabisco, they had to verify that she, as a representative for her mother, was legitimate. You wouldn't believe the information they had on my wife and me and our children. They knew our address, names, names of our children, ages, and my place of employ. We never gave them that info. nor did her mother, and they couldn't have ever guessed my wife would call on behalf of the stock holder. That told my wife and I all we needed to know. We decided then and there that we would never comply with the Census again.

Shrub, my epiphany about the reach of corporate America occurred after my mom's death. A few years ago she had taken out a 2nd mortgage on her house from the infamous Countrywide folk. They gave my, at the time, 79 year old mother a $67,000 loan on an inner city row house.
I had no idea any of theis had happened.
After she died, we informed Bank of America, the new owners of Countrywide debt, that she was deceased & they were no longer authorized to deduct her mortgage payment from her bank account. Of course, when January 1st arrived, they deducted the money anyway.

My mom's bank didn't notify us for a month that the money had been withdrawn from an empty bank account so the amount owed almost doubled due to a long list of fees.
The new amount was close to $800.

When my dad died some 19 years ago, my mom added my name to her account.
So, now that her bank account was empty & she was dead, her bank placed a freeze on my savings account in the amount that was owed on her account.

After notifying us they just took the money.

Apparently there isn't shit I can do about it other than whine & tantrum.
