Plus Ca Change, Plus C'est La Même Chose

Hey Shrub, this just popped into my insomnia riddled brain & it is so glaringly obvious that I could kick myself for not thinking of it earlier. I'm putting it here cause it's my blog & I'll do it if'n I wanna. I'm doing that instead of posting at RI since the Dazzler was gracious enough to accept my offer to stand down.

Check it out:

First we have Miss Goldson from 2010:

"The majority of students are put through the same brainwashing techniques in order to create a complacent labor force working in the interests of large corporations and secretive government, and worst of all, they are completely unaware of it."

Then we have a bit of J. Dazzling's spirited defense of Miss Goldson's honor:

"She knows that the education system isn't going to change over night just because she spoke out, but she did it anyway, and it's gotten a lot of attention, and I would venture to say that it's gotten a lot of people to think about our school system in a different way. That's a good thing."

Then we have this little gem from a band I know is dear to your heart Shrub, from all the way back in the Dark Ages of 1979:

Do you remember how insanely popular that album was back in the day Shrub?
How many drunken teen parties were played out around the world that featured a "we don't need no education" sing-a-long every time that song came on the radio?

It made it to #3 in the UK & #1 in Australia, Austria, France, The Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand and, wonder of wonders, the US of A. It has sold, in the US alone, nearly 17 million copies since its release.

That would be, if my math is correct, a few months shy of 31 years ago. All those kids who sang that song or sat up huffing hookah while obsessively re-listening to that album over and over, finding endless meaning in its lyrics, are now the adults responsible for our current fucked up school system.
Kind of ironic, isn't it?

Yep. I can see how a teenager on UTube will finally be the spark that ignites change.
You can see that too can't ya?

I suppose the eternally hopeful should be given some points for their tenacity, but really, there are limits.

Bruce had this to say about The Majority and no one at RI had the gumption to call him on it. Even you missed it, Richard, but it blatantly belies the sentiment of RI....in fact, it's downright blasphemous and it does represent the fears of an Elitist Wannabe who fears the concept of Majority Rule, even though Civilization ensures there will never be such a thing as Majority Rule.

Well, the majority rules, don't they? And unfortunately, the majority tends to hover around the lowest common denominator.

NO, the Majority doesn't Rule. It never has. It follows....that's why so many of us call The Majority Sheep, and it's what school is designed to do.....make us follow, never Rule. The Majority provides the Momentum via the herd mentality via indoctrination. Even teenage rebellion is adroitly stage-managed and crafted to serve the same ends, i.e. your example of Pink Floyd and its poignant message.....yet here we are 30 some odd years later, and not much has changed....people are still dutiful sheep, just sheep with internet access and i-phones.

They're scratching their heads over your cryptic quote to me. I would be kicked off that board in a New York minute. I'd rip Barracuda's face off, that arrogant little coward.

At the local college the major concern with many instructors is that more and more students are not capable of producing college material work. Reading and writing skills are steadily worsening. Students are reading and writing more than ever, but it is texting, facebook, blogs and emails that occupy this task. It is not a favorable forecast. So talk about brainwashing children into corporate automatons has become talk that Asians, Europeans, etc... have better abilities to read and write than bloody Americans. Instructors are not sharing this much with the students.

It is understood by the students that in the technology trades foreign competition is fierce and Americans have to learn a lot to be able to succeed. So I've listened to quite a lot of students complain about how hard computer classes are. They are somewhat difficult but I'm not talking M.I.T. I'm talking about community college. I'm guessing that the tech jobs will also be limited in U.S.A. since the corporations can get quality work from foreign workers on the cheap.

U.S.A. is left with health care jobs and education jobs. The issue is that Americans receive too much health care that is proven unnecessary by the medical experts and their journals and research. Education is teaching students to be somewhat hopeful about the future and offer educational services in hopes that it is true. It looks bleak.

So I'm wondering what Ms. Goldson and all the high school graduates 2010 think success is. Making money? Gardening? Winning an American Idol competition? Your guess is as good as mine.

You're right Shrub, I did miss that one. I think I even agreed with him.
Which is why we should tag team there some time.

Here's a bit from Jim Hogshire's book about supermarket tabloids:

"Inevitably, readers turn to tabloids for comfort & titillation. They go there to be assured the world outside is worse than they can imagine and that, in the end, a humdrum life doesn't mean they're a failure. Consensus reality is really reality after all."

I couldn't agree more Shrub. Anytime I hear a Lady Gaga tune, or any other pop artist, I can picture the car commercial it will soundtrack one day.

Sell them rebellion & broken taboos & sex when they're young, then sell them sedans using nostalgia for rebellion & broken taboos & sex
when they're older & corralled & neutered.

You have to admit, it's been one successful game plan, hasn't it Shrub?

Mr. B., the last number I read was 350,000, as in "China turns out 350,000 engineers a year who are willing to work longer & for less money than their American counterparts."

Isn't that why so many companies like Kodak are opening R&D facilities closer to all that cheap high-tech labor?

I'm starting to find book reviews at Amazon that are written in text-ese.

Personally, I've always had trouble with that "success" meme. At least, success as portrayed in this Church of the Holy Dollar known as America.
The whole "life as competition" idea has also left me bewildered on more than one occasion.

As for Miss Goldson, I assume she wants to be nurtured.
But then again, don't we all?

It's not much different from folk in the 60s & 70s who wanted to "find themselves."

I think it was a more palatable sentiment back then because mom & dad were probably employed & relatively debt free so junior or junior-ette could be indulged.
That's all changed.
Dad & mom are either canned or living in fear of being canned. In addition, they're most likely drowning in a tub of debt.

Richard, I'm surprised you haven't chimed in on the porn thread over at RI. Actually, I'm not. That one's a mental masturbation marathon if ever there was one.

Morocco Bama said...

Speaking of porn, here's the image of the day. This, metaphorically, pretty much says it all, doesn't it? They say a picture says a thousand words.....in this case, it encompasses a substantial percentage of anything ever written. Marx would give a two thumbs up, I'm sure.

Shrub, while I have nothing against porn, politically correct porn watchers make my skin crawl.

I did read a bit of it, but when one interchangeable RI club member said that he only likes watching the kind of porn where the women look like they're enjoying it, my breakfast started backing up.

How could you possible tell?
They all look like they're enjoying it.
It's called faking it.
I'd bet the RI clubber has had intimate knowledge of that fact in his own 3-D sex life.

Politically correct, new agey(that rhymes with sewagey) yahoos who feel the need to demonstrate their solidarity with women even while waxing their wieners is a bit of a turn off.

The thread has been up for a while, hasn't it?
I guess it shows that the computer addicts over there google a bit more than elite plots, doesn't it?
It also shows they have other things in their hands beside their mouses.

Loved the pic of the day, Shrub.
Was that an outtake from the kiddie porn version of Mandingo?
Did they shoot that immediately before GW bent the kid over, or was he only window shopping for later?

So many questions...

Morocco Bama said...

I didn't know anyone else saw Mandingo. I watched that long ago....Ken Norton was great.

This is an excellent documentary concerning porn if you ever get the chance. It's non-judgmental letting the actors and images speak for themselves.

Thanks for the link Shrub, I'll watch it after the tots toddle off to bed.

Wasn't there a scene in Mandingo where a white woman leers at Ken Norton the way GW is leering at that little kid?

My, how times have changed.

Interesting stuff on Baum. The original Wizard was based on China and chapters specific to that subject were omitted from the movie.

Yes, it was the master's wife. She seduced Ken Norton to get back at her cheating husband. She got pregnant, actually that was her purpose, and when the child was born, it was mullato so the master ordered the doctor to murder it because they considered it an abomination. They didn't show that one in the made for t.v. Roots, did they?

Morocco Bama said...

Richard, that link to the documentary isn't a video link. I can't find the damn thing on line. I saw it on HBO within the last year, but it's several years old, at least. The link gives reviews and a description. You may be able to find it streaming on-line somewhere, but I can't seem to locate it. Maybe Belliosto can? Or Eric after he finishes watching the Wizard of Oz and cleaning the algae out of the GOM. Only kidding, Eric, only kidding.

just_another_dick said...

I didn't look initially because I'm surrounded by kids today.
If you wouldn't have told me it wasn't a video link, I would have sat here tonight, wasting time trying to figure out what I did wrong.
So, thanks again Shrub.

Eric, read something odd about Baum this week but I can't remember where or what. If it comes to me & my Swiss cheese brain I'll post it.

I've directly conversed with some of the rich bachelors involved with the industry. I've decided to be part of the action. Compared to them I am a naked Ethiopian with nothing. I have no money for I am poor. I will stand before the cameras showing my true needy self, who has nothing, I reveal my true self before them.

I have no potential of gaining wealth no chance of owning a mansion. I represent the hungry and starving women of the world as one who figuratively owns no clothing. I am a naked poor insignificant woman of little means. I will offer myself to the real men of this life. The ones who can temporarily make me happy.

I'm back to being Belliosto again.

A group of psychologists who specialize in online behavior have created a website called

In a recent study conducted at the University of Maryland, two hundred students gave up all media for 24 hours: no texting, no iPods, no email, no internet. Quote Pt. 1:
...some of the biggest corporations in America, including a hotel chain [Marriott] whose board of directors includes W. Mitt Romney, president of the Salt Lake City Olympics organizing committee, and a satellite broadcaster heavily backed by Rupert Murdoch, chairman of the News Corporation, were selling [porn]...

The General Motors Corporation, the world's largest company, now sells more graphic sex films every year than does Larry Flynt, owner of the Hustler empire. The 8.7 million Americans who subscribe to DirecTV, a General Motors subsidiary, buy nearly $200 million a year in pay-per-view sex films from satellite, according to estimates provided by distributors of the films, estimates the company did not dispute. [To read about DirecTV's current owners, such as the Murdoch family, click here.]

EchoStar Communications Corporation, the No. 2 satellite provider, whose chief financial backers include Mr. Murdoch, makes more money selling graphic adult films through its satellite subsidiary than Playboy, the oldest and best-known company in the sex business, does with its magazine, cable and Internet businesses combined...

AT&T Corporation, the nation's biggest communications company, offers a hard- core sex channel called the Hot Network to subscribers to its broadband cable service. It also owns a company that sells sex videos to nearly a million hotel rooms. Nearly one in five of AT&T's broadband cable customers pays an average of $10 a film to see what the distributor calls "real, live all-American sex — not simulated by actors...

None of the corporate leaders of AT&T, Time Warner, General Motors, EchoStar, Liberty Media, Marriott International, Hilton, On Command, LodgeNet Entertainment or the News Corporation — all companies that have a big financial stake in adult films and that are held by millions of shareholders — were willing to speak publicly about the sex side of their businesses.

"How can we?" said an official at AT&T. "It's the crazy aunt in the attic. Everyone knows she's there, but you can't say anything about it..."

Quote Pt. 2:

Some of the most popular Web properties — which feature quick links to sites labeled "Virgin Sluts" and "See Teens Have Sex" — are owned by a publicly held company in Boulder, Colo. That company, New Frontier Media, has stock traded like any other, and it expects its video network to be in 25 million homes within a few years. It does business with several major companies, including EchoStar and In Demand, the nation's leading pay-per-view distributor, which is owned in part by AT&T, Time Warner, Advance-Newhouse, Cox Communications and Comcast...

For AT&T, there are sound business reasons to start carrying the highly profitable Hot Network. Unlike distributors of mainstream Hollywood pictures, sex-film distributors typically offer the programmers a split of 80 percent of the revenue, compared with 50 percent or less for routine features...

Hotel chains have made similar decisions when, this year, several groups urged them to get rid of the adult pay-per-view programs that are in nearly 60 percent of all middle- to high-end hotels. Only one chain, the relatively small Omni Hotels, chose to remove the sex films...

Mr. Caldwell [president of Omni] said more than 50 percent of all guests were buying the sex films. "The anonymity is the big thing," he said...

The two companies that provide hotels with pornographic films are both traded on Wall Street and have enjoyed big run-ups in their stock prices over the last few years. The leader, On Command, based in Denver, is worth more than $400 million, and its principal owner is Liberty Media, controlled by John C. Malone, the cable and telecommunications magnate who sits on the board of AT&T and recently agreed to buy up to 15 percent of the shares of Mr. Murdoch's News Corporation...

"Despite the fact that this material isn't marketed, revenue-wise, it's one of our biggest moneymakers," said Peggy Simons of TCI Cable, in court testimony in Mr. Peterman's case. TCI, controlled by Mr. Malone, has since been bought by AT&T.

We have heard about the Wizard of Oz connections to mind control techniques.

I saw a movie just now, for the first time, that had common mind control techniques in it. It was a Scorsese movie called After Hours made in 1985. All kinds of triggering shit in this one and similar, in many respects, to the underlying theme in Inception which I also saw recently. Both movies have the main character repeating numerous times that they "just want to go home." Just like Dorothy. In fact, the Wizard of Oz is mentioned in After Hours, and so is Dorothy when Marcy tells the main character about her boyfriend having a Wizard of Oz fixation and yelling "surrender Dorothy" when he cums. After Hours was a very unusual movie for Scorsese....not his thing, so one wonders why he did this. He has revisited the issue and this theme with his latest Shutter Island.

So Shrub, we have roughly 30 million people unemployed & 40 million on food stamps & US government regulators have closed 96 banks this year, & one op-ed in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
rambled on about how our Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid "entitlement" programs are ruining the economy.

Man, I hate that fucking word "entitlement."
It takes our desire to look out for each other & makes it sound like Dad is giving us an allowance.

I think an army of Darren Browns would at least add some prestige to our flummoxing, but the sad thing is we were bamboozled by snake oil salesmen & tent show preachers.

http://www.blackagendareport.com/?q=content/mongrel%E2%80%9D-historically-and-obama%E2%80%99s-mouth

Read the entire article, but here's a snippet to get your attention:

I did not learn of President Obama’s reference to Black people as “mongrels” on ABC’s “The View” until two days after the fact, and could not initially believe it had happened. Surely, such an occurrence should have provoked a scream heard in every corner of Black America. Yet, it did happen, last Thursday, and there was no general outcry.

The crime unfolded casually. Asked about his racial background, the president replied, "We,” meaning African Americans, “are sort of a mongrel people."

Could it be that the First Black President does not know the country over which he presides, its history and peculiar vocabulary? Even as the Tea Party’s white nationalists strive to resurrect a White Man’s Country, this president bandies about a term that not long ago packed as much concentrated bile and murderous intent as any in the English language – a racial epithet with a more powerfully shaped political charge than the ubiquitous “nigger!”

Anonymous said...

Free Dictionary definition of mongrel: A cross between different breeds, groups, or varieties, especially a mixture that is or appears to be incongruous.

incongruous: Not in keeping with what is correct, proper, or logical; inappropriate

1) bastard, child of incest, illegitimate child
a) bastard
b) mixed population (fig.)
c) born of a Jewish father and a heathen mother or visa versa

taken from The Hill website 7/29: When asked about his background, which includes a black father and white mother, Obama said of African-Americans: "We are sort of a mongrel people."

"I mean we're all kinds of mixed up," Obama said. "That's actually true of white people as well, but we just know more about it."
The president's remarks were directed at the roots of all Americans. The definition of mongrel as an adjective is defined as "of mixed breed, nature, or origin," according to dictionary.com...

...Obama noted "there's still a reptilian side of our brain" that leads people to not trust others "if somebody sounds different or looks different."

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/111611-obama-calls-african-americans-a-mongrel-people-

This seems that is what the president was saying.

Hey MB, he did say it was true for white America as well, so I could be wrong but I think he meant it in a multi ethnic backgroundy kinda way, probably just ignorant of its historical use by the milky bar kids? I think he was backtracking at that point to cover his behind...not that he needed to do that, obviously no one in the MSM called him on it, nor would they.

If ignorance is truly the reason, then where did he come up with the word mongrel without understanding that term and its implications? That's not a term ordinarily used in everyday parlance, and let's face it, The View doesn't go beyond everyday parlance. I don't think it was ignorance on his part. He could have used the opportunity to say he was human, that we're all humans, first and foremost, and that skin color or ethnic heritage shouldn't play a part in determining whether to trust someone, or not. No, instead he says he's a mongrel, and what's worse is he portends to speak on behalf of all black people by saying "we just know more about it." Who's the "we" in that statement? Is it black people, meaning those with black skin? Is it black americans only? Is it black people everywhere? Is it not interesting that he implies he is part of the "we?" Clearly he's not. He was not raised in the culture, and subcultures of black america, so he is no more black american than dubya. By presuming to speak on behalf of all black people everywhere and refer to himself and them in vile white racist eugenicist terms is not only an egregious insult, but irony juiced up on meth.

Yeah, this is in contrast to Obama's Trinity Church being an American-hating black racist church whereas Obama was a member in Chicago for 2 decades. That's the irony.

Here are parts of the mission statement of what his former? church heralds:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian…
God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism.
The highest level of achievement for any Black person must be a contribution of strength and continuity of the Black Community.
The Black family circle must generate strength, stability and love, despite the uncertainty of externals, because these characteristics are required if the developing person is to withstand warping by our racist competitive society.

Continued survival demands that each Black person be developed to the utmost of his/her mental potential despite the inadequacies of the formal education process. “Real education” fosters understanding of ourselves as well as every aspect of our environment. Also, it develops within us the ability to fashion concepts and tools for better utilization of our resources, and more effective solutions to our problems.
Pledge Allegiance to All Black Leadership Who Espouse and Embrace the Black Value System.

http://www.trinitychicago.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=114

taken from wiki: Obama is also not a descendent of American slaves. Expressing puzzlement over questions about whether he is "black enough", Obama told an August 2007 meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists that "we're still locked in this notion that if you appeal to white folks then there must be something wrong.

Obama explained how, through working with black churches as a community organizer while in his twenties, he came to understand "the power of the African-American religious tradition to spur social change".[260] He was baptized at the Trinity United Church of Christ in 1988 and was an active member there for two decades.[261] Obama resigned from Trinity during the Presidential campaign after controversial statements made by Rev. Jeremiah Wright became public.

Which were considered racist against white people. Therefore Obama must be racist. I think these people may have been in the trenches with Chicago's black neighborhoods. At least for looks.

What is the complaint? Are you African American? In my neighborhood blacks often called each other niggers. White people not so much unless they were angry. I've never heard anyone call a black person a mongrel.
I did not vote for our president, but I see the intellectualism involved with the mongrel statement. O'r the land of the free and the home of the mixed breed mutts. Of course, not many purebred Indians here. GENOCIDE

I do not rely on the propaganda about Obama being racist, especially towards blacks. I work in Detroit and I know that it is not blacks that are upset with the president's mongrel statement, it's whites. The blacks get it, but the whites don't. Time for some of that social change.

By the way, I'm albino.

You folks sure have interesting conversations when I'm away playing phone tag with my mother's creditors.

On Monday, I got a call from a mush mouthed & completely unintelligible legal assistant from Phelan Hallinan & Schmieg, LLP, because Bank of America has started foreclosure proceedings on my mother's house.

After my mom died, my brother looked at that 60 + thousand dollar mortgage, compared it to the actual worth of my mom's house, & just said "Fuck 'em & their mortgage."

I don't blame him. From what we can piece together, mostly from memory (where things that didn't make sense then now make perfect sense), my mother was taken for a ride. She never actually saw any of that money. Apparently my mother was required to use the lender's contractors to do the repair work the loan was originally sought to cover.

Over $60,000 to do, at best, $15,000 worth of repairs. I say "at best" because they did such a shitty job (for example, instead of removing old soffit and fascia, they just nailed new onto old. Roof repairs amounted to dumping a bucket of tar on the roof) that I'd make them pay me.

I imagine kickbacks were the order of the day. Someone made money, it just wasn't my mom.

Of course, we have no proof. My mother, who had boxes of phone bills from as far back as 1950, kept no paperwork on this. We don't even know the name of the contractor.

My brother & I have decided to play this as if we're estranged just for a laugh. We tell the guy contradictory shit just to be annoying. Since we're not legally responsible for the mortgage, neither one of us really gives a shit.

Bank of America can have it. I doubt they'll recoup their investment.

Shrub & Mr. B., I think you both have good points. So, I'm gonna do the diplomatic thing, and bow out of this one.

I doubt that it matters much anyway, most of "six pack" America has been gorging itself on depthless twaddle for so fucking long, their brains have atrophied.
They are further hampered by "the American Dream" myth that has been shoveled down their throat since birth.
This red white & blue fog keeps them from seeing that America's problems are systemic.

The American dream itself is, and always has been, a very tainted affair.
Somebody once said that America has Disneyland to distract itself from the fact that it is Disneyland.
I used to agree.
But I don't think that's true anymore.
I think America has Disneyland to distract itself from the fact that it continually fails to live up to its Disneyland propaganda.

Mr. Foot, I appreciate the Kuntz porn link. Not much sex, but the soundtrack was uncharacteristically awesome.

Man, I love it when my little Google bitch tells me my "post is too large."

Makes me want to push all the harder.

What is the complaint? Are you African American?

I have no complaint, whatsoever. No, I'm not African-American....in fact, that term has no meaning for me....it doesn't make any sense and I construe it to be social engineering talk.

I'm merely observing and commenting on my observations....hence my "take the cake" story of the day.

Read the damn link I provide next time before spouting off. It's called Black Agenda Report and its viewers and founders are TRUE Black activists rather than the faux Puppet In Chief. They took umbrage with his comment, and I agree with their assessment.

You seem to be the one that applies double-standards. Obama is off limits, but Bush was fair game. In the scheme of things, both are equal in my eyes, and both deserve my satirical scorn for the projections they are.

Shrub, I did read the article before I posted. Yeah, I know the term African American is social engineering and senseless. It makes it easier to write African American so that one understands what I'm writing. I agree it's senseless. I do not have a clue as to what a true black activist is. I do not put my trust in any leader, especially one who is relied on for social change, liberty, human rights, understanding God, human goodness, etc... I'm thinking one can rely more on a leader that is blatantly verbally evil and is open with this. He or she may be more of an honest leader. Not that I would follow.

Nah, I'm not into leaders too much. I don't trust strangers. I'm not picking and choosing between presidents. There is not a single president of the U.S. that I care for. Anyway, at the level of high office, it's good, bad, and ugly with all of them.

Shrub I'm not racist and I have a friend who lives in downtown Detroit. He is pissed off with the bums that seem to always pester people in the downtown area for money. There is a term for the ?black? bums. Aruh. This is equivalent to using the n-word and it can piss off certain ?blacks? Wigger is the term for ?white? mongrel beggars of Euro descent, who according to my friend are a lot worse when asking for cash. They seem to demand that a fellow mongrelized ?white? person obligate themselves to their beggary. They become much more vocal about it.

Yeah Morocco, but my friend is ?white?, pale, tannish, orange, greenish colored. I knew another white guy who lived in the downtown area. He had the same complaint. These men are upset about the panhandlers and bums approaching them for handouts all the time. It's getting on my friend's nerves. So now some of the whites are letting their frustrations out by calling the ?black? bums Arahs. I don't know exactly what that is about but it is considered somewhat racist.
